The three showcases of the Heritage / Sea Marine areas present each season documents kept in the heritage reserves of the Media Library.

This spring, we are offering three eclectic showcases around the Press, Ex-Libris and Maritime Literature.

Showcase Espace Patrimoine: "A century and images: Illustration (1843-1944)"
From specimens preserved in the collections, discover the treatment of
the news of the years 1915 and 1926 by the weekly L'Illustration. This exhibition
evokes, in addition to the history of the newspaper and its time, the capacities and the limits of
the image as a source of documentation and information.

    Showcase Espace Patrimoine: "Ex-libris"
The ex-libris is a mark carried inside a book by its owner to signify
that it belongs to him. Ex-libris can take very varied forms, more or less
stylized: handwritten name, drawing, emblem, motto or engraved coat of arms… Some are
even the object of collections. Discover an anthology of ex-libris through time, having
    all owned by book lovers.

Showcase Espace Mer Marine: "A short history of maritime literature"
This showcase presents a brief history of maritime literature. Enjoy this
exhibition to rediscover some founding texts of the Greek, Roman and
Celtic from the Middle Ages. Then immerse yourself in the travel relationships of the great
discoveries of the 18th century precursors of the fictional narrative which develops from the
    19th century.
