Located at the outlet of the Rance estuary, the Alet peninsula has been the site of an important agglomeration over 13 centuries of history. Described as the "cradle of Saint-Malo", it shelters the remains of a first Gallic agglomeration, then of a Gallo-Roman village before becoming the capital of the City at the end of Antiquity. It will then become the first seat of the bishopric before giving way to the city of Saint-Malo in the 12th century.
We invite you to discover the ancient history of this site and its context, restored by archaeological work. This conference carried by a projection richly illustrated and detailing in particular the excavations carried out by the Regional Archaeological Center of Alet between 1967 and 1990 will be given by Catherine Bizien Jaglin, director of Ce.RA.A.
