Artistic conference of the conservatory. By Laurent Ronzon, director of the Conservatoire Claude Debussy.

One of the novelties of Carl Philippe Emmanuel Bach's treatise is the conception of the performer as a performer with emotion. Before him, Mozart's father's treatise gave no room for the idea of feelings or the notion of expression. The baroque style becomes an expressive language called upon to translate all the nuances of human emotions that the theory of passions would in turn identify and codify. The conference will be able to list twenty feelings and their musical translation. The era of Mozart will be this triumphant Empfindsamkeit, which the conference will endeavor to demonstrate.
