What is the relationship between the polluting particles emitted by engines and the particles of matter observed in interstellar clouds, comets and planetary atmospheres? Composed of the same elements, their formation process remains largely unknown. Physicists, chemists and astrophysicists are teaming up to meet this scientific challenge that will make the air we breathe less polluted, and perhaps one day unravel the mystery of the origins of life.

    With Sébastien Le Picard,
Professor at the Rennes Institute of Physics
and vice-president "European Programs" at the University of Rennes 1
