Every year, the appointment is made, on 1 May 2025 to celebrate the bagads of Ille-et-Vilaine.
A day punctuated by the sound of the bombarde, binious and drums,festivities start at 11am from the Collège Saint-Magloire behind the Cathédrale Saint-Samson for a grand parade to the Place Chateaubriand, passing along the Promenade Jules Revert (the moat) skirting the ramparts of Dol-de-Bretagne and the Rue des Carmes.
Each of the groups present will stop to perform a tune and showcase their talents. Tradition dictates that it will be the Dol-de-Bretagne bagad that closes the parade.
In the early afternoon, at around 2pm, all the groups will take to the stage one after the other, in the hall of L’Odyssée. A real show awaits you with the departmental competition for 5th category bagadoù.
This day will end at around 6.30pm with the Triomphe des sonneurs, where all the bombarde players from the bagadoù ensemble will be brought together, with a common tune.
