In 2022, the road to Belem crosses again that of rum, 108 years after its last transatlantic campaign. But this time, he does not take the start but encourages, Vauban basin, the fastest sailboats in the world. The eldest of all sailboats recounts, during a visit, the origins of the great sailing navy. Nicknamed "the West Indian of Nantes", Belem was built in 1896 to bring rum, sugar cane and cocoa beans back to France from the West Indies and Brazil... And besides, there are always rum on board, Belem rum from Clément.

Visit of all the decks, workshops, large coachroof, rigging with square headlights, living space for trainees. 20 panels and complete tour guide to discover its extraordinary history: the Belem has lived no less than five lives, changed flag three times to find its French origins, cheating death, surviving where thousands of other, larger sailboats , more powerful, newer, have disappeared forever... A ship, born under a lucky star, which has been able to evolve over time, thanks to shipowners who have never stopped maintaining it. The Belem Foundation is now its heir.
