For the 15th edition of Jazz à l'Étage, artist Kenny Garrett will perform at the Théâtre l'Hermine.
A major figure in contemporary jazz, he has established himself over several decades as one of the most influential saxophonists of his generation. A former member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra and collaborator with Miles Davis (whose centenary is being celebrated this year), he has developed a unique aesthetic that combines bebop heritage, spirituality, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
With his project Sounds from the Ancestors, he explores the roots of jazz through a prism that is at once lyrical, committed, and nourished by African-American memory.
On stage, his quintet displays an energy that is both incandescent and introspective, offering a true musical journey between trance, contemplation, and collective momentum. A rare and precious moment to experience up close with an artist at the peak of his art.
