Cyberstalking or cyberbullying has been a widespread phenomenon since the beginnings of the Internet, but it has worsened considerably with the advent of social networks, in various forms: the creation of fake profiles, the spreading of unfounded rumors and the sending of messages containing insults and intimidation, dissemination of intimate texts, photos or videos of a sexual nature, secretly recorded and then used for extortion purposes. It is this last form of discrimination that Aimée de Jongh chose to deal with in her story "La nuit chute vite", produced for the Dutch Children's Book Week in 2021. Sextortion concerns both men than women, and its psychological consequences are enormous: The victims suffer from shame, fear and loneliness. One in five children, aged between 6 and 18, has already been confronted with a situation of cyberbullying.
The exhibition stages the entire story of Aimée de Jongh.
