The Channel Islands

Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm, are the five main islands of the Channel archipelago, which includes more than a thousand islets and reefs. The two largest islands, Jersey and Guernsey, are very popular, especially on weekends. The islands belong to the British Crown but are not part of the European Union. Therefore, a valid passport is required to visit them. Only one ferry company provides the link from Saint-Malo with 14 rotations per week.

Guernsey, the island of wildflowers

Nature is just as exceptional on the island of Guernsey, located an hour’s crossing from Jersey. Nature reserves, small picturesque harbors, sandy beaches and rocky coves dot the green island’s 160 kilometers of coastline. Lavender, exotic lilies and wild orchids perfume the island for much of the year.In Saint-Peter Port, the capital, a visit to Hauteville House, Victor Hugo’s home is a must! Its extraordinary décor bears witness to the genius of the writer who spent fifteen years in exile in this mansion, built on the heights of the town.Guernsey Tourist Office
