A naturalist explains the littoral ecosystem

The high tides of Saint-Malo

Strolling on the beaches, as their huge expanse is uncovered by the lowest tides in Europe, your guide will accompany you from the Plage de l'Eventail to the island of Grand Bé, sharing his naturalist's knowledge of the landscapes and the ecosystems that appear as the tide retreats. Your expert guide will also explain phenomenon of the tides.

The oyster beds of Cancale

Guided tour of the oyster beds at low tide. Visit the oyster farms and discover how these shellfish are grown and tended. Wellies absolutely essential.

Seaweed tour!

This walk offers an introduction to the production of seaweed on our Breton coast. You'll be taught how to 'read' the coastline, from the top of the beach to the seaweed growing areas, off the coast. Find out how seaweed is grown, collected, sorted and cleaned for use in a variety of food and other products. The walk is followed by a tasting of seaweed products at the top of the beach. lots of different and surprising taste experiences, and a glass of fruit juice on the house.
