During 4 days, boating professionals and the general public, will therefore be able to discover some 150 exhibitors, present in the heart of the Quai St-Malo and on the quays and will welcome visitors to an area of 22,000 m² with 200 boats on display.

Why a boat show in Saint-Malo?

Saint-Malo offers the perfect natural and historical backdrop for a boat show, attracting both industry professionals and the general public.

  • Saint-Malo has a long maritime history. Known for its explorers and sailors, it is alsothe starting point for the famous Route du Rhum, which takes place every four years. It was therefore a natural step to locate a new event dedicated to the nautical sector in the port, just a stone’s throw from the walled city.
  • With nearly 400,000 yachtsmen sailing on the Emerald Coast during the summer season, its 8,000 berths and equipped moorings, its hundred or so nautical associations and clubs offering surfing, canoeing-kayaking, dinghy sailing, kite surfing, wing foiling, and all kinds of leisure activities, the many island destinations less than 30 miles away or the Rance river navigable as far as Dinan, etc., The sailing areas around Saint-Malo are among the most attractive on the French coast, thanks to a particularly dynamic nautical community. Highlighting this sector (nearly 1,500 companies in Brittany), its impact on the economy, the participation of its most emblematic players and the presentation of its challenges, particularly in terms of ecological transition, will emphasisethe excellence, assets and local potential;
  • The town has port infrastructures that are the subject of major works for boating, such as the Duguay Trouin basin. Facilities that can accommodate boats, demonstration areas and nautical activities. What’s more, Quai St-Malo, created and managed by the Ille-et-Vilaine CCI, ideally located in the heart of the city, along the Quai Duguay Trouin, offers an ideal setting for welcoming exhibitors.
  • A tourist destination par excellence, the city and its surroundings attract 3 million tourists every year. Organising a boat show during the spring holidays in zones A and C (Ile-de-France) is an added attraction. The boat show, which is open to the general public, will take advantage of the crowds at the big weekends in April. Whether you’re a lover of the sea, a boating enthusiast or just curious to discover the latest innovations, boats and emerging trends in the sector, this event is sure to attract a wide audience.
  • Saint-Malo is quickly accessible for Bretons, residents of the Pays de Loire region (ligériens), and people from Normandy. What’s more, the city is only 2h15 from Montparnasse station.

The future of the industry, its sustainability, are also among the major issues that the organisers wish to highlight.

The birth of the project

Boosted by the favourable winds of the corsair town and the enthusiasm of the boating professionals of the APNCE, the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the town of Saint-Malo, EDEIS, the SNBSM, Bretagne Plaisance and the Brittany Region, have therefore decided to join forces to launch this new project. With the shared ambition:

  • To offer a new boating experience to visitors and exhibitors this spring,
  • To make this show an exceptional opportunity to boost the region’s boating appeal,
  • To showcase national and local players in the industry,
  • To create networking opportunities,
  • To offer a new must-attend event that will raise the profile of the Brittany region far beyond its borders.

The show is free but registration is compulsory for adults.
