Traditionally, Dol de Bretagne celebrates its founding Saint.
The Pardon de la Saint-Samson is a folk festival during which traditional music and dance groups perform all day in the central Grande Rue. There is a parade of groups, dancing and concerts, and a triumph for the bellringers.

And so it begins from Saturday 26 July!

Saint-Samson’s Day is also celebrated the day before, on Saturday 26 July!

Get together, Place de la Ville Nicault from 7pm:

  • Fest-Noz with traditional Celtic music group Estran and as an interlude, a duo of sonneurs
  • Fireworks at 11.30pm

27 July Saint Samson Folk Festival in Dol-de-Bretagne

The day’s programme:

  • at 10:00 am, mass at Saint-Samson Cathedral
  • at 11:30 am, the bagadous parade, departing from Saint-Samson Cathedral arriving at Place Chateaubriand.
  • At 2.30 pm: parade of groups, rue Lejamptel and Grande rue des Stuarts, Place Chateaubriand (return journey)
  • From 3.30 pm, group performances on podiums at the foot of the Town Hall and Place Chateaubriand
  • At 6.30 pm, the triumph of the bagpipers
