Randonneur’s Charter

In order to preserve all these landscapes and environments that we appreciate so much, a few good deeds to keep in mind are essential to preserve the landscape as you left it.

1.

Stay on the trails

In nature, only the trail is man’s territory. Stay on the paths to avoid trampling species. Don’t take shortcuts and respect fragile areas.

2.

Let’s be discreet

Wild animals are not used to hearing our noises. Keep a low profile to have a chance of spotting them. Never touch a young animal, its mother will abandon it.

3.

preserving our sites

Be a player in the quality of your walking sites! A faulty signpost, a pollution problem, a need for safety measures… Thanks to the Suric@te programme, report any anomaly on the sentinelles website: sentinelles.sportsdenature.fr Your report will be processed by the nature sports federations and the general councils in conjunction with the Ministry of Sport’s national nature sports resource centre.

4.

reclaim our waste

The best waste is the waste we don’t produce. Choose the products you use. Collect and take your rubbish home with you. Volunteer to preserve our environment.

5.

Prefer carpooling and public transport

Transport is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Car pooling or public transport is the best way to get to your destination. Stay on the roads open to vehicles and park in the spaces provided.

6.

close fences and gates

On the paths, we are always on other people’s property. Please remember to close fences and gates after you have passed.

6.

share the spaces

Hiking is not the only activity practised on the paths. Share the natural space with other sporting activities and keep an eye out for other users.

7.

clean our soles

Unwittingly, we can harm biodiversity by bringing soil stuck to our soles, seeds or germs from other natural environments. Remember to clean the soles of your shoes regularly, especially after a trip abroad.

8.

Let flowers grow

They are prettier in their natural environment than in a bouquet. Don’t pluck a flower, bud or young shoot, but learn to recognise the flora and fauna in their natural environment.

9.

keep dogs on a lead

We consider them a friend, wild animals perceive them as predators. For everyone’s comfort and safety, keep your pets on a lead.

10.

do not make fires

Fires are a danger to hikers and nature. Follow the instructions and in the event of fire, call 18 or 112.

11.
