Saint-Malo Agglomération

Conducted by the Agence de Développement Touristique, as part of the department’s tourism monitoring programme, the regional portraits provide a snapshot of tourist and excursionist numbers and movements in a selection of communities of municipalities or conurbations.

Portrait of the region of Saint-Malo Agglomération

Orange Business Service has developed an innovative solution: Flux Vision Tourisme (FVT), which converts technical information from the mobile network into statistical indicators, in order to assess customer footfall and mobility, at the level of territories and events.

The SPL Destination Saint-Malo – Baie du Mont Saint-Michel is a partner of the Agency for Saint-Malo Agglomération.

As part of this, the Agency has drawn up the first Portrait de territoire de Saint-Malo Agglomération, using data collected in 2021 by Orange.

The territorial portrait presents:

  • the general framework of the territory (population, standard of living, employment, housing)
  • the tourism offering (heritage, accommodation, events, soft routes…)
  • an assessment of annual day visitors, stay-over visitors…
  • an assessment of other visits (leisure facilities, accommodation).

The data relates to tourists, day-trippers, French and foreign overnight stays, age, visitor profile (urban, rural, SPC, families, couples, etc.). They provide information on the region’s tourist activity, facilitate knowledge and identify possible levers for developing local tourist activity.
