We take you from the Caen memorial and the landing beaches to Nantes via Mont-Saint-Michel and visiting all of Brittany between land and sea. The Emerald Coast awaits you..
The brittain adventure begins with it : to the west, Cap Fréhel marks a gentle break in the Armorican panorama.. At the heart of the Emerald Coast and near the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, fortress city historic haven of the great discoverers, facilitates access to historical and tourist sites.
To the east, the coast gradually widens towards Cancale and the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Just cross the Rance to discover the superb resort of Dinard, still imbued with the nostalgic charm of seaside villas, beach cabins and yacht clubs. But also, the city of Dinan, classified «city of art and history» for its medieval identity, and many others.
The Penthièvre coast : Located between Saint-Brieuc and the cliffs of Cap Fréhel and Fort La Latte. Its well-sheltered sandy beaches are always popular with tourists and ideal for family holidays..
The Goëlo coast is also shared between sea and river and extends over thirty municipalities distributed between Saint-Brieuc, Paimpol, Saint-Quay-Portrieux and the island of Bréhat. The Pink Granite Coast is a world apart. The traditional brittain landscapes fade to give way to a symphony of colors that has made the reputation of this adorable corner nestled between Perros-Guirec and the Island of Batz..
Cap Fort Perros : The Abers coast. Also called Côte des Légendes, is located on the north coast of Finistère. The abers are fjords, in the shape of funnels, open on the wide which cut very deeply the coast. There are three : Aber-Ildut, which marks the passage from the Channel to the Atlantic Ocean : Aber-Benoit;
Aber-Wrach.. The spectacle offered by the ebb and flow of the tides in these narrow faults is striking..
The Iroise Sea : It is the real dividing line between the Channel and the Atlantic. The many islands it houses have the most authentic and wild face of Brittany. Among the must-see sites, head for the Crozon Peninsula which, like a cross lying on the ground, extends its two arms between the Brest Bay and the Bay of Douarnenez.. The marina of Brest lies at the bottom of its monumental harbor that opens onto the Iroise Sea. Douarnenez, «the city with three ports», is symptomatic of the attachment of brittany people for their maritime heritage..
Cornouaille Coast: We continue our wandering on the southern coast of Brittany with the Cornouaille Coast. From Pointe du Raz – now a protected area – to Pont-Aven, there are beaches and fishing ports as we like to imagine. Concarneau, city of Art and History, is still steeped in the military and artistic history that has forged its identity..
The Gulf of Morbihan is home to one of the richest megalith deposits in the world. Carnac and its alignments are the major attraction.. However, dolmens and menhirs are not the only resource : the beaches are numerous with, a short distance, the city of Lorient and Quiberon, seaside resort. Vannes, historic city located on the Gulf of Morbihan and former seat of the brittany parliament.
