Day 1: Did you remember to check the tide directory before booking your activities?

Don’t forget that life here moves at their own pace!
But don’t miss your meeting with a guide on the foreshore in Cancale, who will tell you all about the exceptional culinary and medicinal virtues of seaweed. You’ll taste this green gold of the sea, with its unique textures and flavours! some even taste nutty! If plants aren’t your cup of tea, take a “little train” tour of the Bay at Cherrueix or Le Vivier-sur-Mer. At low tide, the whole family will love this fun way of exploring the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel:its biodiversity, mussel farming on bouchots and traditional fisheries will hold no more secrets for you. In season, opt for an evening outing: the Bay bathed in moonlight is just as fascinating as it is under the sun!

Cancale

Day 2: What better way to start your holiday than with a mid-afternoon warm-up bike ride?

By taking the Vélomaritime®, you’ll cycle along the majestic Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: enjoy this unique maritime landscape that varies to the rhythm of Europe’s highest tides.

Polders and marshes, exceptional flora and fauna, changing colours that inspire painters and photographers… A real treasure trove!
To admire this marvellous panorama even more, get some height and savour these landscapes as far as the eye can see: fromthe Balcon de la Baie in Roz-sur-Couesnon, at the top of the village of Mont-Dol, at the top of the Belvédère des Ondes in Saint-Benoît-des-Ondes or even at the Pointe du Grouin in Cancale. Before returning to your campsite in the heart of the Bay, enjoy a unique experience: a yoga class in Cancale, on a rocky point, facing the sunset!

Day 3: Today, it’s hiking!

You set off arpenter the GR® de Pays along the Rance Valley.
Everything here is beautiful and remarkable: the malouinières, magnificent buildings constructed by the Malouin shipowners of the 17th and 18th centuries,the tide mills, the vineyards on the banks of the Rance, the remains of a presumed Viking camp revealed at low tide, the dories, the boats of the Terre-Neuvas that fished for cod…. The paths are lined with gorse and broom. Make the most of this rural setting by stopping for a picnic. This is the place to be! But it’s time to set off again! Saint-Suliac is in sight: the nautical centre of this village, labelled Plus Beaux Villages de France®, offers light sailing activities: give it a try! The day ends with dinner in one of the village restaurants, or on the terrace of one of the food-trucks set up on the harbour in season.

Quelmer

Day 4: Admire this Natura 2000-listed site in a different way: aren’t the banks of the Rance seen from the coastal river magnificent?

Here you really are “Between Land and Sea”, the name the locals give to this country. Your stay is coming to an end, but you can’t leave withoutdiscovering the boat cemetery at Quelmer La Passagère, one of Saint-Malo’s districts. Near a still-working shipyard, remnants of the yards that werethe pride of the Vallée de La Rance, a few wrecks bursting with graffiti occupy this small cove. Some see in this cemetery a tribute to the memory of the sailors and ships of this country.
Artists and poets, a source of inspiration. Others, a place for meditation. What about you?

The stroll along the banks of the Rance

“Nonaisienne (resident of Ville-ès-Nonais), I’m sharing with you my crush, but that’s between us! I dare to venture to your neighbours in the Costarmoric region. Yes, we’re right on the border of the département! We arrive at a place called Chapelle Saint-Magloire in Pleudihen-sur-Rance. I set off into the middle of the fields, before joining a path along the Rance. There are ruins, an incredible landscape. I can’t get enough of this setting… Continuing along this path, sometimes with my feet almost in the water, I come to the Port Saint-Jean in Ville-ès-Nonais. The pleasure boaters are there… and the fishermen too. I wanted to get a bit of height, so I reached the Pont Saint-Hubert. It’s a sight for sore eyes! I take the stairs and follow the path under the Chateaubriand bridge. I soon arrived in Vigneux with its beach. I continue along the shore before joining a farm track that takes me up to the rue d’Aleth. I smile at the students from the riding school, ready to go for a ride, and here I am, back in the town!”
