Vessel of pink sandstone in an incomparable site. Transformed into a coastal defense fort between 1690 and 1715, the castle of La Roche Goyon remains above all a fortified castle. The 14th century defensive system is still in place. Exceptional site and panorama. The walls, châtelets of entry, barbican, towers, oubliettes, keep, furnace to blush the iron balls crossed the centuries. Bricole, cannons, crossbows recall its military past. Its chapel is dedicated to St Michel. Medieval garden, labyrinth and vegetable patch enhance the visit. Open daily from April 1 to September 30. Like every year, the castle organizes the Grandes Médiévales during the month of August: FROM August 11 to 14, 2020. The castle is closed on December 25 and January 1.
